When creating a step, you can choose a step category for each one of the steps.

What is a step category?

A step category is used to classify the steps within your Accommodation, Transport, or Activity/Extras blocks.

In Ezus, each step category can be differentiated by color and can have customized fields that allow you to add important information relating to each type of category.

How do you create a step category?

To create or modify your stopover categories, go to Settings > Custom fields > Steps :

By clicking on the category you have already created, or a new one (click on the "➕)" button, you will be taken to the category editor.

You must give your category a name, you can choose a color to differentiate it (useful on your Stages view in creating your program).

⭐️ You can select the category as the main category by clicking on the star at the top right. It will then appear by default on the accommodation, transport, or activities steps you add to your program, depending on where you created your category.

How do you add custom fields to your step category?

When creating or modifying your step category, you can add custom fields that will allow you to add additional information relating to this type of step. As a reminder, here is an article on ✍️ Custom Fields.

Click on the "Add a custom field" button:

You need to give the custom field a name, select the field type, add a default value (if required) and a description:

Then, click on Save.

When creating a new step in your program, you can select the category of your activity and your personalized fields will appear in the details section:

Once it has been created, if you want to modify it, you can go to the pencil on the right and change the step information:

With this personalized information, you can then use our dynamic variables on your document template to highlight what you've added to your step.
