When budgeting, you want to lock in your overall margin or the total sales price/per person for your customers. Here's how to do it.
Where can I block my margins/prices?
Before getting into it, you can block these statistics in each one of your projects independently.
To do so, go to your Program and then to the Statistics section in your budget:
The padlock corresponding to each item of data is located next to its name.
What data can I block?
1. Net margin rate
By activating this padlock, you will lock the net margin rate for your entire project.
By activating the padlock you will no longer be able to change any of the data on your statistics.
After activating any padlock, if you hover your mouse over this table your mouse will display this icon: 🚫
After adding a new product to your programme, you will always have the same margin rate, as shown here:
The net margin rate of 25.02% has been maintained, while the net margin and selling price have been modified.
2. Net margin or net margin per person
By activating the second padlock, you will block the net margin for your entire project (or the net margin per person if your individual budget is activated):
After adding a new product to your programme, you will still have the same net margin:
The amount of your net margin is maintained while the rest of the data has been automatically modified after the new product has been added.
3. Selling price or Selling price per person
By activating the Sales price incl. VAT padlock (when your project is configured with a global budget) or Price per person (individual budget):
Once a new product has been added, your table will be automatically updated with the new data:
Your selling price is maintained, while the rest of the data has been modified.
ℹ️ It is not possible to activate more than one padlock at a time.
From now on, whenever you add, modify or delete one of your products in your programme, the selected statistic will be maintained.
What data will change when I activate a padlock?
If the margin lock is locked, the data modified will be:
The net margin downwards if the price of a product is reduced or upwards if the price of a product is increased.
The sales price in the same way as with the net margin.
If the net margin padlock is locked, the data modified will be:
The margin rate, downwards if the price of a product is increased or upwards if it is reduced.
The selling price, unlike the margin rate, will change upwards when the price of a product is increased and vice versa.
If the selling price padlock is locked, the data will be modified:
The margin rate increases when the price of a product is reduced and conversely, when the price of a product is increased, the margin rate decreases.
The net margin will take the same shape as the mark-up.
In no case will your quantities be modified. However, if you modify them, this will lead to changes with a similar behaviour to those described above.
If you have ✍️ automated the product quantities, this will not result in any changes.
