Manage commissions on the whole trip

Some amounts change your margin without changing the price your client pays: a commission received from a partner, or a commission you pay out to a business introducer. The Commissions section of the budget lets you record them at trip level, so you know your real net margin.

💡 This section covers commissions on the whole trip. For a commission negotiated on a specific product, see our article ✍️ Manage commissions.

1. Add a commission

In your project’s (or project sample’s) Program view, the Commissions section sits between Supplements and Margin. Add a line and fill in:

  • Title: for example “Partner commission”;

  • Supplier (optional): the partner concerned;

  • Type:

    • Received: the commission is paid to your agency and adds to your net margin;

    • Paid out: you pay it out, for example to a business introducer, and it comes off your net margin;

  • Based on: a percentage of the trip’s sale price or purchase price, or a fixed amount;

  • Attachment (optional): the commission invoice or supporting document.

The line saves automatically. The bottom of the section shows the total of commissions received, commissions paid out and the net total.

💡 The default base follows your Commission calculated on setting, in Settings > Finances > Budget. If you change this setting, reload the page for it to apply to new lines.

2. The effect on your margin and documents

Trip commissions never change the price your client pays and have no effect on VAT. They are included in your net margin wherever it is shown:

  • the project budget and its list of alternatives;

  • Finances > Margin and its export;

  • the projects list and the dashboard;

  • invoice statistics (forecast and closing).

On your quotes and invoices, they are added to the commission total, alongside product commissions. This total appears on documents generated after October 30, 2026: for an older document, generate it again.

💡 Good to know:

  • If you have locked your margin, or if your client has a preset margin rate, Ezus adjusts the fees so that the margin stays exactly as expected.

  • Commissions are copied when you duplicate a project or an alternative.

  • If you change the project’s currency, fixed-amount commissions are converted. Percentage commissions don’t change.

  • Net margin per day and per line doesn’t include trip commissions, since they apply to the whole stay.

  • On a closed project, the section is read-only.
