Why does my generated document show the variable instead of the project information?
In Slides, variables must start and end with $$.
For example:
$$project.title$$
If a variable appears as text in the generated document, one common cause is a missing or extra $ somewhere in the slide or block.
A quick way to check this is:
Open the slide or block where the variables are not displaying correctly.
Use Ctrl + F (or Cmd + F on Mac) and search for
$.Check the number of
$symbols found.The total should be an even number, since
$symbols are used in pairs.If the number is odd, there is likely an extra
$or a missing$in one of the variables.
For example:
Correct:
$$project.title$$
Incorrect:
$project.title$$
$$project.title$$$
💡 This is a quick way to detect a syntax problem when a slide contains many variables.
If the number is even but the problem remains, check the complete syntax of each variable. Two different syntax errors could still result in an even total.
You can also copy the variables from the affected slide and ask an AI assistant to check them:

Why does my custom field variable display nothing?
Check:
That the custom field contains information in the project or object being generated.
That you are using the technical name of the custom field.
That the variable corresponds to the correct context, such as the project, step, accommodation or supplier.
The technical name is not necessarily the same as the visible name of the custom field.
If everything appears correct but the value is still missing, use the Ezus Help Chat for assistance.
Why is a slide missing from my generated document?
Check whether the information required by that slide exists in the project.
For example, if a slide is configured to appear only when a particular accommodation, day, step or other item exists, the slide will not be generated when that information is absent.
Also check any conditional rule applied to the slide or block.

Why is the wrong day or item displayed?
Numbered variables retrieve a specific item or position.
For example, .1 refers to the first corresponding item, .2 to the second, and so on.
If you duplicated a slide to display another day, accommodation, step or transport, check all the variables on the duplicated slide. Some may still contain the number from the original slide.

Why is the same information repeated on several slides?
This commonly happens when a slide has been duplicated but its numbered variables have not all been updated.
For example, if two slides both contain variables referring to days.1, both will retrieve information from Day 1.
Check every variable on the duplicated slide and make sure it refers to the intended day or item.
Why doesn't my category filter work?
Check that you are using the technical name of the category rather than only its visible name.
Also check the category syntax and, when filtering several categories, the required separator.

Why doesn't my conditional rule work?
Check that:
The rule uses supported syntax.
The referenced information exists in the project.
The rule refers to the correct day or item.
You are not confusing a field that exists but is empty with information that does not exist.

Why don't &&, @@ or #--# work?
These modifiers have different purposes:
&& ... &&can hide accompanying static text when the associated variable has no value.@@adds a line break only when the following variable exists.#--#can remove a complete table row when the associated information is empty.
Check that you are using the correct modifier for the result you want.

Why is my image missing or displayed incorrectly?
First, check that the source image exists in Ezus.
Then check the image variable and how it is configured in the slide.
Depending on the desired result, image variables can use options such as [crop] or [center].
[crop]is useful when the image should fill its area.[center]preserves the complete image and can be useful for elements such as logos.

Why can't I open my Google Slides template?
If Google Slides displays a 403 error, the editor may be connected to the wrong Google account.
Try the following:
Clear your browser cache.
Sign in to the correct Google account.
Open Ezus again.
Try opening the Google Slides template again.

Can I display the price of an optional product in my proposal?
Products marked as Option have a financial impact of 0. Their price cannot currently be inserted into a proposal using a variable.
The list of options can be displayed using:
$$days.X.steps.Y.products.option$$
Quotes have a Total selling price of options setting, but proposals do not.
