Catalog Slides can contain variables just like your other Slides templates. Variables allow you to create a reusable Google Slides design while automatically adapting its content to the element it represents.
1. Add variables to a Catalog Slide
Open the Slides tab, then open the corresponding Google Slides template.
You can add variables directly to the content of your Slide.
2. Find the available variables
To find the variables you can use, open the Variable Drawer from the top-left corner.
The drawer shows the variables available for the current context.
💡 Use the Variable Drawer rather than writing a variable from memory. This helps you select the correct variable for your Slide.
3. Understand the this variables
When working with Catalog Slides, variables containing this refer to the specific element you are currently working on.
Depending on where the Slide is created, this can therefore refer to the current:
Product
Supplier
Destination
Step
For example, when you are working on a Slide associated with a Product, a this variable retrieves information from that Product.
⚠️ The meaning of this depends on the context of the Slide. In a Product Slide, this refers to the Product; in a Supplier, Destination or Step Slide, it refers to that corresponding element.
4. Use the usual Slides variables
In addition to the variables related to the current element, you can use the usual Ezus variables available for Google Slides.
This means you can combine information about the current Product, Supplier, Destination or Step with other project information in the same Slide.

5. Make your Catalog Slides appear in a generated presentation
Creating a Catalog Slide is only the first part of the process.
For the Slide to be generated:
The Slide must be added to the Product, Supplier, Destination or Step you want to use.
That element must be included in the project.
Your Google Slides document template must contain the corresponding Product, Destination or Step block.
When the presentation is generated, the block retrieves the Slides associated with the corresponding elements.
For example, if you create a Slide for a Product, your Google Slides template needs a Product block to retrieve and generate that Product Slide.
⚠️ Adding a Slide to a Product, Supplier, Destination or Step does not make it appear automatically in a generated presentation. The corresponding block must also be included in your Google Slides document template.

6. Check your variables and generated Slides
Generate a presentation using a project containing the Product, Supplier, Destination or Step you configured.
Check that:
The expected Catalog Slide is generated.
The corresponding block is present in the document template.
Variables are replaced with the expected information.
thisretrieves information from the correct element.Text and images display correctly.
💡Test your Catalog Slides with representative project data, especially when variables may contain text or images of different lengths or sizes.
