A generated document combines a selected template with information entered in Ezus. Before you begin, make sure you have a suitable template and a project containing the information you expect to display.
👉 New to templates? Start with: Getting started with documents on Ezus
1. Prepare your project
Open the project you want to use and check that the information you expect to display has been entered.
For example, a template displaying a travel program may use:
day descriptions;
accommodation information;
activity details;
transport information;
images.
The information required depends on the template you selected. A voucher, for example, will not necessarily use the same information as a full proposal.
💡 For your first test, use a project with a small amount of clearly identifiable content. A few days with distinct descriptions and images are easier to check than a long program containing unfamiliar information.
2. Generate your document or webpage
Generate a Slides document
Open the relevant project. Make sure you are working in the project whose information you want to display.
Open the project’s document area. Choose the document type you want to generate.
Select a Slides template. Choose the existing template you want to use for this document.
*In this case we will use the template Multidestination tour (FR)*
Launch generation. Once the document is available, open the generated result.
Compare the result with the project information. Check the content before making layout changes.
Generate an HTML webpage
Open the relevant project. Check that its information is ready to display.
Open the project’s document area and select the webpage option.
Choose an HTML template. Select the template that provides the presentation you need.
Enter a name for the webpage and launch generation.
Open the generated webpage. Review the actual output, not only the template code.
⚠️ Successful generation does not guarantee that every expected detail is present.
3. Check the generated result
Once the document is generated, check that the result matches your project.
In particular, review:
Project information: Is the correct title and other expected information displayed?
Program content: Are the correct days, accommodations, activities, and transport items shown?
Descriptions: Is the expected text displayed and readable?
Images: Are the correct images shown and displayed properly?
Layout: Does the content fit correctly? Is anything overlapping, cut off, or leaving unexpected empty spaces?
For HTML webpages, also review the webpage at different screen sizes when relevant.
💡 When something does not appear as expected, compare the generated result with the information entered in your project first. This helps you understand whether the content is missing from Ezus or simply not used by the selected template.
4. Preview changes before sharing
If you update information in your project or make changes to a template, always preview the result again before sharing it with your customer.
Generate or update the document and check the actual output rather than relying only on what you see in the template editor.
You can create or duplicate as many templates as you need for testing.
For example, you can:
duplicate an existing template before testing changes;
create a temporary version for experimentation;
compare several versions;
delete test templates once you no longer need them.
💡 Keeping a separate test copy allows you to experiment without affecting the template you currently use.
5. Share the document with your customer
Once you have generated and checked your document, you can export or share it with your customer.
The available options depend on the type of document you are working with:
Document type | Available options |
Slides | PDF, PowerPoint (PPT), or link |
Vouchers | Document (DOC), PowerPoint (PPT), or link |
Quotes | PDF, Excel (XLS), or link |
Descriptions | Document (DOC), PDF, or link |
Web Pages | Copy the link or export as PDF |
You can choose the format that best fits how you want to send or present the document to your customer.
You can also make documents available through the Client Space, allowing your customer to access them directly from their dedicated space.

💡 Before exporting or sharing a document, generate it one last time and check the final result, especially if the project information or template has recently been updated.
6. A first look at constants and variables
When you start looking inside a template, you will notice that not all content behaves in the same way.
Some elements always stay the same, while others are automatically replaced with information from your project.
For example:
a title such as “Your itinerary” may stay the same in every generated document;
a project name, date, accommodation, description, or image may change depending on the project.
These two types of content are referred to as constants and variables.
